With the gradual opening of WA, we all need to consider the impact of Covid-19 in our wider community.
I want to reassure you that I have been actively planning for this eventuality for many months and have put systems and strategies in place to make the risk to you as low as possible.
Some of the many ways I have been making it safe to provide your treatment during this time:
Careful screening of all people attending for appointments. I may ask again to take your temperature and triage before entering treatment rooms.
A requirement for hand sanitising and checking in with the QR code before entering have been in place for some time now.
Masks must be worn unless you have a medical exemption or you are asked to remove them briefly in the treatment room.
I have been fully vaccinated with three doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
I have top quality PPE including fit tested N-95 level masks to protect you.
I have increased the number of medical grade HEPA 13 air filters with UV which are capable of removing virus particles from the air if they are present. The sealed filters remove particles down to 0.1 microns in size and provide additional protection against airborne infection.
Windows are opened when using air-conditioning to allow free movement of air throughout the clinic and waiting area.
Rigorous cleaning of the clinic takes place after every patient leaves and at the end of each day. The medical grade detergent and disinfectant I use on the beds and all clinic surfaces is TGA approved and kills a wide range of microorganisms including SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19 virus).
The layout for entry and exit to the clinic has been changed to ensure there is no crossover of patients.
If the virus is widely present in the community, then Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) will become part of life for all of us. When that time comes, I will be testing regularly to reduce the possibility having an undetected asymptomatic infection that might pose a risk to others.
I would be grateful if you could help us to maintain a safe environment in the following ways:
Please do not attend for an appointment if you are feeling unwell, particularly if you have a cough, sore throat, fever, runny or stuffy nose, sudden loss of taste or smell, headache or gastro symptoms.
Please do not attend if you are a close contact of someone who has symptoms of or is a confirmed case of Covid-19.
Please do not attend if you are isolating or awaiting results of a Covid-19 test.
Please wear a mask, use the hand sanitizer provided upon arrival and scan the QR code.
I will be asking to see proof of vaccination from new clients or those I have not seen for some time. If that cannot be provided, I ask that you wear an N95 mask to enter the clinic to keep you safe from infection. If you cannot access one before arriving then one will be provided.
Evidence from around the world suggest that with the above strategies in place we can continue to provide your treatment safely and effectively through the next stage of our collective COVID journey.
If you are at all unsure about any aspect of your visit, please call 9295 1778 and I will be happy to help.
Take care and stay safe. Dr Rosemary Pinter (Acupuncture/Chinese medicine) BA, BAHSc (Acupuncture), AACMA.
