What  about the needles?   Does it hurt?

Picture
The needles used in acupuncture are manufactured under strict guidelines. They are solid single use pre-sterilised needles made from surgical grade stainless steal. They are very fine, some only as thick as a human hair.

Acupuncturists  in Australia are required to have strict qualifications which are, or are the equivalent of, a four year full-time university level Bachelor of Health Science degree which not only includes in depth study and practice of Chinese Medicine techniques but also Western bio medical sciences. This allows the practitioner to insert the needles with great care into the correct position in the body without damaging the structures beneath the skin.

Clients should be assured that if they relax they should feel only the slightest prick (if at all) with accompanying subtle sensations induced after the insertion. Patients will often experience a sense of well-being and a natural relaxed state during and after the treatment.
