If this is your first visit to this clinic, here are a few things to remember
More

Chinese medicine is a holistic medicine which aims to discover the root cause of any particular illness or dis-ease.

During your first appointment, your main health issue will be discussed in detail. We will then ask other relevent questions about your health to help build up a complete picture and to put your illness into holistic context. After the discussion we will take your pulse and examine your tongue. Please don’t clean your tongue before the appointment as any coating can inform us of your inner health.

Taking the pulse in Chinese Medicine is very different from Western medicine as it is an important pillar of diagnosis which helps give information about the state of your health. A physical examination will be performed for any muscular-skeletal problems and it is common practice to palpate along acupuncture channels for a wide range of ailments.

In the treatment room you may be asked to remove some articles of clothing. Privacy and modesty will be respected at all times. Clean towels are used to cover the body when required. Rooms are kept at a moderate temperature at all times. Your comfort is our concern.

If this is your first visit to this clinic, here are a few things to remember:

  • Wear clothes that are loose and comfortable if possible. Tracksuit pants and loose tops are ideal. Avoid tight or restrictive clothing such as jeans if you can.
  • Allow time for your appointment. Your initial appointment is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes in length. Subsequent visits are 45 minutes to an hour long.
  • Plan to arrive on time for your scheduled appointment time to avoid delays.
  • If your appointment is close to a meal time, we suggest you have something light to support your treatment. Please do not come on an empty stomach as you may feel uncomfortable during and after the treatment.
  • If you can, please avoid coffee, caffeine drinks, cigarettes, vigorous exercise, emotional or stressful situations for at least 1 hour prior to your appointment. Also if you are taking any pain medication, including Panadol or other over the counter products please do not take any for at least 4 hours before hand if possible. If it was not possible to avoid any of the above, please let us know so that we can take it into account when we do our diagnosis.
  • Please bring along any Western medical examination/test results relevent to your current health condition as well as information on any medications, supplements or vitamins you might be taking.
  • If you are coming for fertility issues, please bring your diary with dates of recent menstrual cycles, details of any assisted reproductive procedures, and any current western medical test results.
  • Payment is expected at the time services are rendered and a fee will be charged for non-arrival or cancellation after 9.00 am on the day of the appointment.

Free parking is available at the rear of our building and can also be accessed from
Happiness Lane, off Stoneville Rd, running adjacent to the Church car park.
