Rose started her practice in acupuncture in 1985 and has continued to study and work in hospitals and clinics in SE Asia, China and Australia. She has a Diploma, Advanced Training Certificates and a 4 year Bachelor of Health Science degree in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. She completed an advanced studies internship at the Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine and associated hospitals in Nanning, China and maintains her knowledge of current research and techniques through the attendance of professional conferences and training seminars. Rose has also presented papers at various Chinese medicine Conferences and peer group meetings in Australia.
Rose has been trained in various traditional and contemporary acupuncture and Chinese Medicine techniques, such as moxibustion, cupping, Gua Sha and Tui Na, as well as advanced studies in Facial Acupuncture with Internationally renowned Mary Elizabeth Wakefield from New York. She is also well trained in the use laser acupuncture, useful for babies, children and needle phobic adults.
Rose is a general Chinese medicine practitioner and has experience using acupuncture and Chinese medicine for the symptoms arising from both acute and chronic health conditions. These conditions include musculoskeletal pain and tension, allergic rhinitis; the symptoms associated with menopause such as insomnia and feelings of heat; conditions associated with infertility, IUI and IVF assistance; itching and dermatological conditions; sleeping problems; symptoms associated with stress and anxiety; symptoms of neurological disorders and post stroke sequelae. Rose works with people of all ages, from in utero, infancy to later life. As well as using acupuncture Rose may also prescribe Chinese Herbs in tea pill, capsule and granule form if required to aid healing. The products used are all TGA approved products. Other treatments such as cupping, moxibustion, guasha, exercise and dietary advice are also provided.
She has volunteered her services in many communities in Sri Lanka, India and Australia and believes that acupuncture in particular is an affordable adjunct to community health. She now brings her skills and experience to the Hills community and surrounding country regions at her clinic WISE ACUPUNCTURE in Mundaring.
